Having Cosmetic "Work Done" Should Not Be Apparent to Strangers

As the world capital of entertainment, Hollywood is a beacon of beauty and wealthy celebrities, many who are hush-hush about having "work done," or having undergone cosmetic surgery. At We Know Beauty, we understand the desire for discretion in the process of having Beverly Hills plastic surgery, and what's more, we believe that patients who have had plastic surgery should not have telltale signs of having had, say, a facelift. In Beverly Hills, there are many of the best plastic surgeons in the world, but still, many patients fall prey to not doing their research and finding which are board-certified and have a track record of success, and an excellent reputation.

The point of having cosmetic work is to look like a new you — someone who looks rejuvenated, revitalized, and overall, more beautiful. However, if you go to a less reputable plastic surgeon, you may end up having the evidence of having gone under the knife plainly written on your face. Overly "pulled" looks of a facelift, obviously deformed and overly large breast implants, or too many facial fillers can be just some of the problems that can make it obvious you've had plastic surgery. At We Know Beauty, we aim to keep you looking natural, beautiful, and even though you'll notice a dramatic change (improvement) in your appearance, those who don't know you won't even be able to tell you've had any "work" done. You'll just look like a more beautiful you: naturally gorgeous!

The Windows to the Soul

Considering all the attention grabbed in the world of Beverly Hills plastic surgery by breast and buttock augmentation, it's perhaps not surprising that we sometimes fail to look upwards at other body parts that just may say a little more about who we truly are. Today, we're thinking about the eyes, often called "the windows to the soul." They fascinate everyone, including the best plastic surgeons in Southern California here at We Know Beauty.

On Wednesday of this week we had two separate beauty-related news items relating to eyes. The first was actress Zoe Kravitz's appearance at the premiere of this week's big possible tent-pole release, "Divergent." One writer described her look as "two-toned, off-white-and-pewter cat-eye."

Meanwhile, fashion designer Marc Jacobs, plugging a new line of make-up, rhapsodized about his favorite body part:
There is a feature that I always notice; the eyes. I love eye makeup so I guess if we were to talk about the feature I notice first it would be a good eye.
There's no doubt about it, while the eyes aren't quite eternal -- they can definitely be impacted by age and health issues -- their beauty does not have to fade. At the same time, the way in which they are framed is crucial. Eye make-up is important but, alongside such procedures as facelifts and revision rhinoplasty, We Know Beauty surgeons perform plenty of blepharoplasty to make the area around the eyes appear younger and more attractive.

In a world that seems, at times, to be obsessed with sexiness in its most crass form, it's kind of reassuring to think that -- more than most other parts of our body -- it's the eyes that can really turn heads.

Is the "Selfie" Craze Making You Consider Cosmetic Improvement?

Lately, a lot of media attention has been given to the rise of the "selfie." These photos, usually taken on a smartphone, are often uploaded to a social media page such as Instagram, or to sent privately to a love interest via text message. Because of these selfie shots, many are looking much more critically at their face and body, particularly the most commonly addressed areas that lead many to seek out Beverly Hills plastic surgery. We Know Beauty, a top plastic surgery center in Beverly Hills, provides exceptional results for cosmetic procedures for breast, body and facial procedures — no matter your inspiration.

In the past few years, plastic surgeons have noted a 10% rise in rhinoplasty, a 7% rise in hair transplants, and a 6% rise in eyelid surgery. In Beverly Hills, eyelid surgery can encompass several procedures, from an Asian patient wishing to have a fold in their upper and lower eyelids (East Asian blepharoplasty), or older adults who want to remove excess skin around the eyelids. We Know Beauty is proud to provide these procedures that enhance a person's self-esteem, but encourages patients to be truly aware that cosmetic surgery may or may not improve their self-image or change the way they feel about their "selfie" shots.

If you're interested in cosmetic enhancement in Beverly Hills, We Know Beauty wants you to do your homework to ensure that you know what it will entail, and to choose the best plastic surgeons in the area. To that end, We Know Beauty provides a plastic surgery before and after gallery, to help you make an informed decision. To book your complimentary consultation, please call us today at 310-300-1500.

Free to Be You and Me

The online controversy over the appearance of certain performers on the Academy Awards last weekend hasn't gone away yet. Yes, there's certainly a point at which cosmetic procedures and treatments may become too much of a good thing -- and the best plastic surgeons will try to steer patients away from that point. At the exact same time, however, every time someone criticizes a celebrity, or a noncelebrity, for their plastic surgery they're basically engaging in an act of aggressive, often meanspirted, busy-bodyism.

After all, isn't any medical procedure pretty much a matter involving a person, his or her doctor, and perhaps their loved ones? If you in none of those groups, it seems to us, your opinion of a medical procedure, be it a superstar's facelift in Beverly Hills or an accountant's gallbladder surgery in Boise, Idaho, is pretty much immaterial.

Of course, it's fun to gaze at impressive plastic surgery before and after pictures -- particularly if we are contemplating a similar procedure, but the moment we start judging the recipients, it's very likely we're starting to go too far. Of course, we don't think anyone's going to stop judging celebrities and their medical procedures but, at a certain point, it's worth asking ourselves why we care so much about something that really has nothing do with us.

If you want to exercise your right to do as you please with your body by contacting some of the finest plastic surgeons currently working, We Know Beauty would love to hear form you at 310-300-1500.

Leave Kim Novak Alone!

Perhaps one of the biggest stories coming out of last night's Academy Awards was the response to Kim Novak's appearance. As they tend to be, online commenters were fairly cruel in discussing the appearance of the 81-year old screen legend, saying her face appeared overworked because of plastic surgery. However, the team here at the Beverly Hills plastic surgery medical network, We Know Beauty, thinks that it's unfair to Ms. Novak to be so cruel.

Considering that our society (and Hollywood more so) prizes youth and beauty, it's time to stop shaming women who undergo such scrutiny. We have the feeling that the same commenters would be equally cruel to somebody who dared step on stage looking 81 years old. It's simply time to just let people look and feel their best, no matter if they choose to get plastic surgery or not.

Perhaps the true issue is with the quality of her perceived work. As we've seen during secondary procedures like revision rhinoplasty and breast augmentation, the stigma of obvious plastic surgery from other medical practices can be incredibly cruel. We Know Beauty excels at changing obvious plastic surgery into natural and gorgeous results that should have been achieved the first time.

The best plastic surgeons working for We Know Beauty strive to help all patients achieve their cosmetic and wellness goals by providing personalized, comfortable, and excellent work. Our job isn't to convince people to get plastic surgery; it's our job to provide the safest and highest quality cosmetic surgery in Southern California.

Regardless, We Know Beauty believes that Kim Novak is a beauty icon who has inspired many throughout the years and we hope she continues to get respect for her contribution to film.
