A Few Beauty Resolutions for 2013

It's almost New Year's and so it's time to look forward to a few of the things we can all do better when it comes to making ourselves, and our world, a bit more beautiful in 2013. After all, You don't have to be an actor, model or even one of us board certified plastic surgeons to be concerned with beauty. We all want to look our best and, yes, there is also a kind of beauty in the world that's more than skin deep.

Anyhow, here are three resolutions we'd like to propose for, well, everyone.

1. Focus on our health. In our opinion, there's nothing more attractive than simple good health. Yes, it's easy to focus on the allure of a well toned body or a healthy looking complexion, but beauty that's achieved while focusing as much -- or more -- on health than your idea of objective beauty tends to have the best results. The best plastic surgeons in the world can't recreate the simple glow of good health.

2. Try to make your world more beautiful. Beauty is catching, in our opinion. Sprucing up your home or office will make you feel better about your surroundings and, voila, you'll be more attractive. Even top plastic surgeons occasionally find themselves stuck in less than gorgeous surrounding. Of course, as surgeons, we have to work in clinical surroundings but there's always a way to beautify any space, and it's worth it.

3. Know that beauty is all around you. It's true. Everywhere you go, there's something beautiful right around you. Sure, there are many places that are the furthest of cries from the Taj Mahal, but we bet if you look hard enough there's something -- or someone at least -- very beautiful right there. At the very least, you'll have fun trying to find beauty at the laundromat or the DMV.

Have a great 2013, everyone.

Non-Surgical Facelifts from We Know Beauty may Play a Part in New Year's Resolutions

We all know that New Year's resolutions are all about self-improvement; feeling better, looking better, and making changes that also benefit those we care about the most. Certain choices might appear purely self-serving on the surface. But when you do something nice for yourself, others often reap the rewards. When you feel good about yourself, you are more effective in helping others. A common resolution for the New Year is to lose extra weight. With the non-surgical facial treatments offered by the best plastic surgeons of We Know Beauty, you can also radically improve your appearance in 2013.

Botox offered by our board certified plastic surgeons reduces the activity of muscles that cause deep frown lines for up to four months. The holiday season is busy, but a short botox session takes only a matter of minutes, with the client completing their visit to a We Know Beauty office in under an hour. Non-surgical facelifts are highly effective when botox and facial fillers are used in conjunction. Our clinics utilize the best fillers currently on the market, like Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse. Radiesse, specifically, plumps and smooths out the wrinkles of the face for up to a year’s time.

If part of your News Year’s resolution is to make the changes necessary to increase your self-esteem, perhaps the non-surgical facelift solutions offered from We Know Beauty are the proper recourse for you at the start of this upcoming year. To learn more about botox and facial fillers or one of the surgical procedures offered by our top plastic surgeons, contact We Know Beauty today.

A Real Plastic Surgery Good News Story

Easily one of the very best things about living in the Internet age is the easy access we all have to sometimes very specialized news from around the globe. As board certified plastic surgeons, we are obviously especially interested in stories about our specialty, wherever it is practiced. Just now, we were fortunate  to stumble over a fascinating and encouraging story about plastic surgery from today's Hindustan Times about a place we're not very used to hearing many upbeat stories about: Afghanistan.

Despite many of the issues our U.S. forces, face in that historically crucial nation, its apparent that, on a personal level, some progress is being made there. A few years ago, the nation's best plastic surgeons were focusing mainly on correcting the horrifying disfigurements that can result from warfare. Even more horrifying in many ways, they were also large focused on correcting the results of self-harm from severely depressed Afghani women and domestic violence, including the acid attacks which can be so hard for Westerners to understand.

The extremely positive trend is that, at least in the nation's capital of Kabul, it now appears Afghanistan's top plastic surgeons are now largely focusing on the same issues top plastic surgeons here in L.A. focus on: rhinoplasty, face lifts, tummy tucks, and all the rest.

Part of the reason appears to be that U.S. involvement in the nation has finally resulted in the nation developing a more vibrant middle class. However, in this holiday season, it would also be nice to think it's a sign of a greater level of peace. People in wartime tend to focus on survival issues and not too much else. When we have time to contemplate improvements to the shape of our noses of how we'd like to get rid of some wrinkles or bags under our eyes, that's a sign that we've mostly got the life-and-stuff settled.

Male Breast Reduction by We Know Beauty Targets Gynecomastia

One of the lesser-known procedures conducted by our top plastic surgeons, but nonetheless beneficial to the patients of the past who have received it, is the Male Breast Reduction. This operation targets excess breast tissue in the male breast, a problem known as male gynecomastia. It might seem surprising, but 30 to 60% percent of men develop excess fat of the breast over the course of their lives. If this fat becomes excessive, it can usually be removed through liposuction from We Know Beauty. In some cases, the fat develops to such an extent that our board certified plastic surgeons might recommend a male breast reduction.

In order to correct gynecomastia, our surgeon will make the necessary incisions is such a way that they will blend with the natural contours of the body. For best results, the physician may reposition the nipples to render a placement that is more typical of a man’s form. At We Know Beauty, male breast reduction is performed as an out-patient procedure by some of the best plastic surgeons in the country. Following the surgery, the male patient is able to resume most normal activities after a couple days.

Whether the gynecomastia resulted from a hormone imbalance or from being overweight, our leading surgical team can rectify the problem. If you are a male in need of a reduction of the breast, please call our office to set up a complimentary consultation.

Shopping for Beauty

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is surviving Black Friday okay.

Anyhow, the fact of the is that board certified plastic surgeons don't go crazy putting up specials for Black Friday, much less Cyber Monday. Yet the reality is that our customers do shop for our services, just like any other product. It's natural to be price conscious when obtaining surgery, particularly -- as is the case with most elective plastic surgeries -- when the cost is not covered by insurance.

It has nothing to do with how well off a patient is or is not. Even some of the wealthiest people in the world remain concerned they are paying a fair price for any product or service they buy, no mattter what it is -- that's often how they got wealthy in the first place. Still, deciding which doctor is among the best plastic surgeons for you is a lot different between deciding whether it's worth spending an extra $1.00 for the name brand of cereal as opposed to your supermarket's cheaper generic version.Your appearance and your health are involved, after all.

While we understand that money is important in today's world, and there's no getting around that, we would like to suggest that it makes more sense to first find out who are top plastic surgeons before you ask yourself any other important questions. We know this might be a shock but Thanksgiving weekend is a good time to remember that there are some things more important than money.

Grown-Up Bond Girl Has the Right Idea -- For Her

Because this year is the 50th anniversary of the James Bond movies and "Skyfall" happens to be the biggest movie in the world this week, everyone associated with the enormous super-franchise seems to be coming out of the woodwork. That's not a bad thing. In particular, we're all fascinated to see how some of the earlier "Bond girls" have matured over the years. Our favorite so far is Jane Seymour.

If you really know your Bond movies, you likely remember the lovely Ms. Seymour as the mysterious Solitaire from "Live and Let Die," the first in the series to feature Roger Moore as Bond. If you remember the 1980s, you probably remember her as "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman." Now, of course, it's a whole different century and Ms. Seymour, now 61, is loud and proud when it comes to the topic of plastic surgery and has apparently darkened the doorstep of a few highly qualified board certified plastic surgeons over the years. She told The Christian Post that, at different times in her life she had work done on her eyes and, after breastfeeding her children, had had breast augmentation surgery.

However, she also noted with pride that she hadn't had work done on her face and avoids Botox. Her argument was that anything that could reduce the mobility of a face was problematic for actors. Also, she said she was "proud' of her wrinkles. All we can say is that it's easy for a woman who looks as amazing as Ms. Seymour to say that. If she told us the best plastic surgeons in the world had labored to create her lovely, natural look, we also would have believed her.

We imagine if  Ms. Seymour's wrinkling had been more significant she might have been slightly less proud of those wrinkles, but she's obviously done something right! The point is, of course, that everyone should have done work that makes them feel more comfortable. If you love your face just the way it is, wrinkles and all, that's fine but if other body parts really do seem to crimp your personal style, well, that's we come in. If it's the other way around, also great. We're all different.

A Facelift During Lunchtime?

The board certified plastic surgeons of We Know Beauty would like to clear up some common misconceptions of the "lunchtime facelift", a term that is often tossed around these days.

First of all, the lunchtime facelift is synonymous with natural facelift or non-invasive facelift. A lunchtime facelift is very different than a surgical facelift. In a nutshell, the procedure consists of rejuvenation treatments that could be completed during a woman's lunch break.

During the process, no incisions are made. The non-invasive lunchtime facelift consists of a combination of Botox treatments. Fillers like Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse are administered by the trusted medical professionals at We Know Beauty. When receiving these treatments, it is important the appropriate amount of gel is used. The We Know Beauty staff expertly makes the needed adjustments for the most successful results.

A surgical facelift may be in order for the patient dealing with extreme skin issues, such as sagging of the face and neck. But to encourage a fresh, youthful appearance and vanquish the fine wrinkles that come with age, women and men may choose the lunchtime facelift. The non-invasive treatment brings undeniable improvements to a person's appearance, minus the extended recovery period that accompanies surgical facelifts. We Know Beauty puts the client in touch with the best plastic surgeons in Los Angeles. All of our surgeons can confidently perform the facelift that is right for you.

The expert cosmetic surgeons at We Know Beauty will recommend the lunchtime facelift if they think its returns will satisfy your beauty expectations. Call to set up a complimentary consultation with one of our top plastic surgeons today!
