Never Nude?

Looking at the title of today' post, fans of the cult TV hit, "Arrested Development," will immediately think of the condition suffered by Dr. Tobias Funke (David Cross), who had a crippling fear of being completely naked, and therefore wore cut-off jeans underneath his clothes at all times. That's not what we mean, since the real-life condition of gymnophobia has very little to do with our type of outstanding Beverly Hills plastic surgery.

No, we were actually inspired by a new of an exhibit on the history of underwear currently underway at Australia's Bendigo Art Gallery. It occurs to us that, when we think of ourselves unclothed, we probably more often imagine how we look while not completely naked but just mostly unclothed.

While we all want to look as good as possible in our birthday suits, the fact of the matter is that -- for most people, anyhow -- it's relatively rare for us to be seen in the altogether for any length of time by anyone, with the possible exception of our partner. It's only natural that people flock to the best plastic surgeons in town for body procedures not so much thinking about how they want to look when completely naked, but how they'll look in a bikini or other bathing suit. Of course, they might also imagine how they'll look in the latest lingerie selections.

We think that there's something about us they just likes to be framed. Other animals are beauitifully framed by fur, feather, or colorful scales. For a lot of us, human skin just doesn't quite do the trick all by itself. It needs a little something, sometimes a very little something, to be at it's best.

If you'd like to improve the way you look in a lot of clothes, very little clothes, or none at all, We Know Beauty if is here to help with everything from buttock and breast augmentation to tummy tucks, facial rejuvenation and revision rhinoplasty. Just call 310-300-1500.

Why We Care about Celebrity Cosmetic Surgery

If you've been anywhere near a celebrity news web site this past week there's one thing you've almost certainly seen. That's speculation about whether or not Kim Kardashian has taken advantage of Beverly Hills plastic surgery and gotten herself a nose job in advance of her wedding to superstar rapper Kanye West.

Sure, the speculation is fun, though it's not always possible for even the best plastic surgeons to be completely certain about whether or not surgery has been obtained just on the basis of a few photographs. The real question, however, is this: why is it so important?

After all, in a better world, we wouldn't compare ourselves to people who are much better known than us and who happen to have been genetically advantaged with both good looks and some money in the bank. What's really going on here?

Whatever else they are, and however they may have become famous, celebrities are reflections of ourselves. If Ms. Kardashian took advantage of a cosmetic procedure then, on some level, it makes it more thinkable for ourselves or others. Humans are social animals and it's impossible for us not to be influenced by what others are doing.

At the same time, whatever we do on behalf of our appearance, we should do it for ourselves. Really. Fortunately, if you're really do want to do something for yourself, from revision rhinoplasty to liposuction or buttock augmentation, the leading edge specialists of We Know Beauty are here to help. Just call 310-300-1500.
