Summer Survival Tips for Angelino Beauty

The city of Los Angeles is known the world over for having perfect weather, and warm winter months that are much closer to summer than the chilled alternative. Still, when the summer months do come roaring around to Southern California, the heat factor can really take a toll. At We Know Beauty, in addition to being a leader center for Beverly Hills plastic surgery, we also know a thing or two about beating the heat. Here are some tips.

Mind your materials: When shopping for summer fashion, you need to pay attention to more than looking good. You have to be able to feel good as well when the heat waves strike. Ligh weight fabrics including cotton breathe easier, and will help you handle the heath.

Chill your makeup: Try throwing your makeup in a zip-lock and throwing it in the freezer overnight before you leave the house the next day. It'll help it from melting in you bag during the day.

Change up you wardrobe: Summer is a great opportunity to show more skin, and you're going to want to to stay cool. Modify the wardrobe you have by changing long dress or skirts into cute minis, or pants into shorts.

Of course, if you're going to show more skin, you're going to need to make sure you look good, and a tummy tuck will help you do it. We Know Beauty has every procedure you need including rhinoplasty in Beverly Hills.

Reclaim the Best Version of Yourself

Many people hold the misconception that the point of plastic surgery is to make yourself look different. Really, cosmetic procedures are all about bringing out the best version of you. Whether you are trying to combat years of aging, reverse the effects that pregnancy has had on your body, or allow other people to see you as you see yourself, cosmetic surgery is the perfect way to show your inner confidence to the world. Here are three ways that people use Beverly Hills plastic surgery to reclaim their beauty.
  1. Mommy Makeover – Recent mothers turn to procedures like a breast lift or tummy tuck to help them regain the body they had before carrying and giving birth to their child.
  2. Anti-Aging – In addition to facelifts and arm lifts that are meant to combat sagging skin, patients also love injectables like Botox that can reduce wrinkles and crow’s feet.
  3. Feature Matching – Additionally, procedures like a rhinoplasty in Beverly Hills are performed in order to match certain features to the rest of the body so that everything blends in naturally rather than standing out.

Let's Make Body Shaming a Thing of the Past

In a piece published earlier today by the Examiner, famed actress Sarah Jessica Parker lamented a recently circulated tabloid exposé that took aim at her appearance, including the suggestion that she had plastic surgery to improve the look of her hands.

The goal of any Beverly Hills plasticsurgery should be to empower others, making them feel satisfied and confident about their bodies. Body shaming should never be used as a motivational tool to provoke people to alter their appearance through surgery. Unfortunately, as celebrity gossip columns continue to accuse stars of having secret procedures done with increasing regularity, the reality is that body shaming is an all too common occurrence in our society.

We Know Beauty, a leading network of board certified plastic surgeons in Los Angeles, has been been at the forefront of high quality cosmetic procedures for more than a decade. If you or a loved one has been shamed into thinking your body isn't good enough, please do not allow that kind of negativity to be a factor in considering a tummy tuck. Instead, call us today for a complimentary consultation by dialing 310-300-1500, and one of our respected physicians will sit down with you and explore how best you can resolve your cosmetic goals.

Keeping it Real

We were looking at a Huffington Post piece recently comparing beauty advertisements from long ago with more recent ads, and we couldn't help being reminded of how often our expectations for the level of beauty we achieve might not always be terribly realistic. That's why, as doctors who are constantly striving to be top plastic surgeons in every possible way, we work hard to ensure that patients have realistic expectations when it comes to surgical outcomes.

We Know Beauty has a long history of providing the kind of outstanding rhinoplasty Beverly Hills and greater Los Angeles is known for. At the same time, not every person can have the "perfect" nose of an Grace Kelly or a Brad Pitt. In fact, even if it were practical, not everyone would look good with Ms. Kelly's nose plastered in the middle of their face. The art of what we do is making sure that people look like the best version of themselves, not someone else.

The same applies to procedures like breast augmentations or a tummy tuck -- the perfect breasts of this or that film star or the amazingly flat stomachs of the models you see in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition or just not achievable for everyone -- sometimes not even for the models and film stars in question. (Thank you, Photoshop!)

Of course, we really can make some pretty impressive improvements in a person's appearance as long as your expectations are reasonable. To find out more about what we can achieve for you, it's never a bad idea to call We Know Beauty at 310-300-1500.

Taking Pride in Our Work

The Los Angeles Times reported this week that a Newport Beach-based plastic surgeon is facing legal charges for allegedly performing more cosmetic procedures on a patient during a rhinoplasty than were agreed upon by both parties. In doing so, the doctor in question was able to bill his patient's insurance company an additional $40,000 in medical expenses. The lawsuit, first filed in 2010, is taking a significant developmental step forward next month when the surgeon is expected to be arraigned in court.

When you make the decision to undergo a rhinoplasty in Beverly Hills, do you have confidence that your doctor will treat your body—and financial status—with respect and dignity? Apparently that isn't always the case. But at We Know Beauty, you can rest assured that we treat our clientele with the utmost deference, whether they are having breast reduction surgery or a tummy tuck.

Each of We Know Beauty's top plastic surgeons are board certified and are distinguished members of the medical community in Southern California. For more than a decade, We Know Beauty has led the way
in excellence for plastic surgery patients in California, and you can feel confident that we practice our trade and conduct business with unparalleled expertise and integrity. If you are interested in learning more about the wide range of procedures offered at our six Southern California locations, contact We Know Beauty by dialing 310-300-1500 to schedule a complimentary consultation today.

Tummy Tucks: Yes, Men Get Them Too!

Of all the plastic and cosmetic procedures performed at We Know Beauty, a notable minority are performed on men. In fact, procedures for men are on the rise year after year, according to The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), who estimates that men account for 25 percent of new plastic surgery patients. In 2011, ASAPS reported that men had nearly 800,000 cosmetic procedures, which accounted for 9% of all procedures carried out by ASAPS doctors that year. While that may not sound like much, it's a 121% increase from the total number of men who underwent plastic surgery in 1997!

Men who come to We Know Beauty  often benefit from the same procedures offered to women, but with the masculine approach. Men usually choose cosmetic procedures such as rhinoplasty, liposuction, eyelid surgery, and male breast reduction. However, some may be surprised to learn that that includes a tummy tuck in Beverly Hills. Most often utilized for men who have lost significant weight upwards of 100 pounds, men who are most likely to benefit from a tummy tuck have undergone bariatric surgery.

At We Know Beauty, we cater to patients of all ages and backgrounds, including gender. We believe that successful bariatric surgery patients often benefit from a tummy tuck to make their abdomen tauter and smooth out the skin that has become loose from losing so much weight.
