Be Inspired by "Beauty After Breast Cancer"

A recent article at the popular tech and pop culture blog Boing Boing featured the work of photographer Joseph Linaschke, who has created a book of portraits called "Beauty after Breast Cancer". The inspiring book is being funded via Kickstarter, and Linaschke hopes it will inspire body confidence in women who have undergone treatment such as mastectomy for breast cancer.

The book illustrates the many faces of breast cancer survival or prevention, and the incredible effects of cutting-edge breast reconstruction surgery. It is designed to be a coffee table book for surgeon's offices, cancer centers and breast centers, and it would likely look right at home at our own Beverly Hills plastic surgery facility.

At We Know Beauty, our board certified plastic surgeons are proud to provide a wide variety of exceptionally effective cosmetic surgeries for breasts, as well as various other surgeries that are performed for health, wellness and the confidence that comes from aesthetic beauty. If you're in need of rhinoplasty in Beverly Hills or any number of similar plastic surgeries, don't hesitate to get in touch with our inspiring and dedicated team!

What is the Mirror Telling You?

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? More importantly: what do you feel? Looking into the mirror is obviously a reflection of oneself, but it goes deeper than that. For all too many of us, looking in the mirror invokes negative emotions. Many people don't like what they see, and they form negative associations with their own reflections. Clearly, this isn't the way we were meant to live our lives. Getting ready in the bathroom in the morning shouldn't also come coupled with feelings of self loathing. That's no way to start the day.
At We Know Beauty, we believe you should feel great about how you look, and every glance in the mirror should only build your confidence and self-esteem, not work against it. We have some of the best plastic surgeons in the the LA area who are dedicated to helping you achieve the look you desire. Your body is yours and yours alone, and you deserve to love who you are. Our team will help you empower yourself with topnotch treatments from breast lifts to tummy tucks.

Our board certified plastic surgeons are one of the finest teams out there, and will walk you through the entire process so that you can find the procedure that's right for you. Don't settle for bargain bin treatment options from other centers. Our treatments are world class, and our plastic surgery before and after have results that speak for themselves. Don't hide from the mirror. It's time to feel good about how you look.

A Smize by Any Other Name

Can you think of a new word for a facelift in Beverly Hills? A "flift"...nah. A "visage redux"...absolutely not. Still, sometimes the words we have to describe certain elements of beauty simply don't exist, and something has to be found to step into the verbal breach.

We were thinking about that as we read writer Adele Chapin's thoughts regarding the new product line being modeled by supermodel-turned-business-megathreat Tyra Banks. Writing for the the Racked shopping blog, Ms. Chapin had this to say:
...of course, her eye products fall under a category called "Smize." Take Tyra's trademark "art of smiling with your eyes" to the next level ...In addition to smizing, Banks invented a new word to describe the project: Beautytainment...
We have to give Ms. Banks some credit, we actually don't have a word for smiling with your eyes, so "smizing" does serve a purpose. On the other hand, so much of the entertainment we already focuses on very attractive people that you can say it's al mostly "beautytainment."

Still, we need to keep creating new words. Whether you're in fashion or Beverly Hills plastic surgery, it's important to communicate properly so that people understand what you're talking about -- and having the right words handy is crucial. When people started discussing a new kind of silicone for use in augmentation procedures, one clever doctor named it a "gummy bear breast implant" and the name stuck. It's easy to see why because it uses something very familiar -- a popular children's candy -- to describe the texture of something that was heretofore unfamiliar. It works.

Our plastic surgeons at We Know Beauty are not only the very best when it comes to performing procedures that make our patients the best possible versions of themselves, they are skilled communicators. Even if they don't use Tyra Banks' latest new words, they make sure they use the right ones so you'll understand exactly what you can expect from our work.
