Plastic Surgery in the News: Friday the 13th Edition

We've all heard that the strangest things happen on Friday the 13th, and this news story that just came out is just that: strange!

A New York Fashion Week show presented "Faces of Fashion," which offered Dr. Ramtin Kassir, a tri-state area plastic surgeon, the opportunity to show off his patients. Instead of fashion models walking down the runway, Dr. Kassir's patients took to the catwalk to display the outcomes of their cosmetic procedures. While these "models" walked down the runway, before and after photos flashed on a background screen. Here at We Know Beauty, we consider fashion shows more adept at showcasing, well, fashion...not the place where prospective patients should go to choose if they'd like rhinoplasty or perhaps an eye lift.

At We Know Beauty, we don't pull any gimmicks to get new patients. We focus on hiring the best plastic surgeons who are not only highly-skilled surgeons, but have a flair for artistry to achieve the best patient outcomes. Our board certified plastic surgeons take patient safety as priority #1, while we help patients enhance their natural beauty. Not to mention, all services provided at We Know Beauty are carried out with complete privacy and discretion, as well, so there will never be a parade of We Know Beauty patients!

Plastic Surgery in the News: August 2nd Edition

Here at We Know Beauty, network of top-ranked board certified plastic surgeons in Southern California, we supplement our knowledge of plastic surgery by reading the most recent industry news. This week, there are two big stories that have emerged: a study on if plastic surgery makes you prettier and a revelation by Bravo star Patti Stanger.

The first news story comes from New York, where a doctor showed pictures of people before and after a procedure to monitor their attractiveness/youthfulness. The results showed that those who received plastic surgery were ranked about the same before and after on a beauty scale, though they did appear years younger. The science behind the study is debatable (no people saw both a before and after picture and judged them against each other), but we can't help but think the study misses the point.

For many of our patients at We Know Beauty, the tangible results of the procedure aren't as important as the transformation in self-confidence. It's like saying that a gummy bear breast implant only serves to make the breasts larger, when it's really about making a woman feel confident, beautiful, and no longer self-conscious. We truly believe that this restored self-worth makes women look and feel much more beautiful.

This was evidenced by Patti Stanger's recent post-plastic surgery revelation. The Millionaire Matchmaker herself revealed that she had a breast reduction and lift, an eye lift, and a series of Botox injections. While we think she looks rejuvenated and vibrant, we really appreciate what she said about her internal transformation, "I felt skinny and young again!" That's what we like to hear at We Know Beauty!
