Isabel Gonzalaez paid about $900 to get facial injections
from a business called “Viviana's Body Secrets,” in Doral, FLA. The owner, however, was an unlicensed massage therapist,
allegedly not in any way certified to give facial injections. Poor Isabel spent
two months in the hospital when swelling and infections set in. She may never
be the same.
“There's a misperception that it's like getting your hair
done," said ASAPS president Dr. Leo R. McCafferty. But he goes on to
emphasize that plastic surgery is inherently safe when the doctors and the
facilities are top notch.
